ETCO Insulated Connector Product Line Performance Excels in Harsh Climate Conditions

ETCO Insulated Wire Terminals Excel in Harsh Conditions

ETCO Incorporated glass reinforced insulated connectors provide improved performance over native polymer connectors

August 16, 2017 (Bradenton, FL) – ETCO Incorporated, a manufacturer of custom precision metal stampings, wire termination parts and molded products today announced the performance results of its insulated connector line. The insulated connectors offered by ETCO have long been industry leaders in safe, long-lasting wire termination connections. The connectors provide the same quality and cost-effective reliability manufacturers have come to expect from ETCO.

ETCO’s engineers tested the glass reinforced insulated connectors against competitor offerings to evaluate the differences between the products. The competitor connectors use simple native polymers and lack glass reinforcement. In high humidity climate conditions, their native polymer connectors expand and weaken resulting in hazardous conditions.
The glass reinforced ETCO insulated connector, is engineered to collapse on itself in a scenario when there’s a malfunction. This will allow it to hold until an automatic shutdown cycle occurs within the operating equipment.

ETCO’s insulated connectors are rated UL94V-0, RoHS compliant and are flame retardant. In 96 hours of testing in humid conditions, the connectors required 3.5 times the separation force connectors when compared to competitor offerings.

ETCO Vice President of Sales, John Stiness states, “with 3.5 times the separation force compared to the nearest competitor, ETCO’s insulated connectors are second to none in the most rigorous conditions.”

The insulated connectors are available in straight and flag styles. They mate with .110” x .020/.032”, .187 x 020/.032”, and .250” x .032” NEMA male tabs. The AWG wire range is 18-14 and 22-18.

Founded in 1947, ETCO is a privately owned company. The Company manufactures precision stampings as well as rubber and plastic molded products used in a range of industrial manufacturing including automotive, appliance, aviation, medical, information technology hardware, networking and many others. ETCO also has major customers in a variety of other industries in the USA and in over 30 countries throughout the world. ETCO has factories and a research complex in Bradenton, Florida and a factory and engineering center in Warwick, Rhode Island.
