RECEIVES ISO/TS 16949:2002 CERTIFICATION

Bradenton, FL-- ETCO Inc. Automotive Products Division, a leading supplier of spark plug and distributor terminals, and rubber insulators (boots) to OEMs and aftermarket customers since 1978, announced that it has received ISO/TS 16949:2002 certification from Underwriters Laboratories. This is an ISO technical specification that aligns existing US, German, French, and Italian automotive quality system standards within the global automotive industry. It specifies system requirements for the design/development, production, installation, and servicing of automotive related products.

According to Bob Altomonte, President of ETCO Automotive Products Division, "ISO/TS 16949:2002 is an international standard which should be considered by every automotive manufacturer in the world. It was written by the Inter-national Automotive Task Force (IATF) which consists of an international trade group of vehicle manufacturers including BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Fiat Auto, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, PSA Peugeot-Citroen, Renault SA, and Volkswagen, plus national trade associations."

ETCO ignition products include spark plug and distributor terminals, 5mm and core crimp terminals, as well as straight and angle boot insulators.
