Electrical Terminal Made from High Temperature Alloys

New high temperature alloy, which are a cost-effective alternative to nickel-plated steel and beryllium alloys for demanding applications in the appliance, automotive, medical, military, and telecommunications industries is being introduced by ETCO Incorporated of Warwick, Rhode Island.

High Temp Insulated TerminalsETCO HT Alloys features extremely high resistance to stress relaxation at up to 200°C and can be used for manufacturing their full range of standard and custom electrical terminals. Providing very good formability including sharp bending, this high temperature alloy exhibits outstanding electrical conductivity (80% IACS) and up to 550 MPa (80 ksi) yield strength. Suitable for critical applications where higher electrical conductivity, cost, and environmental durability are important factors, ETCO HT Alloys are available as an option for fabricating any type of terminal or connector. These proprietary high temperature alloys are less expensive than nickel-plated steel and beryllium alloys, claims the firm.

ETCO HT Alloy typically costs 30% less than beryllium alloys, depending upon the terminal design and quantity. Literature and evaluation samples are available upon request.
