Wire Splices Improve Electrical Performance

A new series of splices for in-line and butt splice applications that replace soldering with a high-strength crimp using automatic applications is being introduced by ETCO Incorporated of Warwick, Rhode Island.

ETCO Wire splicesETCO U-Band and Autoband Splices are designed for making in-line connec-tions and butt splices with solid and/or stranded wires using high-speed automatic applicators. Featuring dimples, serrations, and/or ribs that increase the holding force between the wire and wire ear, they improve electrical performance by mechanically disrupting oxides during crimping. Creating a stronger connection than soldering, ETCO U-Band and Autoband Splices are offered in a full range of sizes for combined wire and splice cross-sections ranging from 200 to 12,800 circular mills. Made from nickel plated steel, tinned high brass, and high brass, splices are supplied on reels for making a wide variety of different types of connections.

ETCO U-Band and Autoband Splices are priced according to material, size, and quantity; with typical 2 to 4 week delivery. Samples, literature, and price quotations are available upon request.
