ETCO designs and manufactures custom precision metal stampings and proprietary electrical terminals engineered to meet exact OEM requirements for form, function, environment, and automation. From initial concept through full-scale production, ETCO provides a turnkey solution that integrates engineering, tooling, stamping, and automated assembly under one roof.
With a heritage dating back to 1947, ETCO has partnered with OEMs and Tier I, II, and III suppliers across automotive, appliance, HVAC, aerospace, medical, electronics, and industrial markets, delivering high-volume, tight-tolerance stamped components that perform reliably in demanding applications.
ETCO’s in-house engineering team supports customers from early design through production launch. Using 3D solid modeling, rapid prototyping, and advanced simulation tools, ETCO develops custom stamped solutions optimized for manufacturability, automation, and long-term performance.
All tooling, dies, and fixtures are engineered and built internally, allowing tight control over tolerances, lead times, and design changes. This vertical integration enables faster iteration, reduced risk, and seamless transition from prototype to high-volume production.
ETCO specializes in high-precision, close-pitch, light-gauge metal stampings produced on over 20 high-speed Bruderer presses ranging from 10 to 60 tons, operating nearly 24 hours a day.
Material thickness capabilities typically range from 0.008” to 0.090”, with tolerances as tight as ±0.002”, depending on material and part geometry. ETCO supports both reel-to-reel and loose-piece stampings, from simple terminals to complex multi-feature lead frames and assemblies.
Materials commonly stamped include:
• Copper and high-performance copper alloys
• Brass and bronze
• Phosphor bronze
• Stainless steel
• Cold rolled steel
• Nickel-plated and copper-plated steels
• Clad and inlaid alloys
ETCO does not use lead-based or environmentally harmful materials.
ETCO integrates advanced operations directly into progressive stamping tools to reduce cost, improve consistency, and support high-volume automation, including:
• In-die tapping for threaded features
• In-die assembly of mixed-metal and multi-component parts
• Riveting, staking, and contact insertion
• Selective tipping and reel-to-reel epoxy coating
• Skiving for contoured thickness profiles
Secondary operations such as bending, welding, brazing, crimping, cutting, inserting, and component attachment can be performed in-strip or through custom-designed automation equipment.
ETCO designs and builds custom automated assembly and wire-termination equipment to ensure stamped components integrate seamlessly into customer production environments. Solutions support robotics, pick-and-place systems, vision inspection, PLC-controlled automation, and high-speed wire processing.
This capability allows ETCO to deliver complete, production-ready solutions that reduce assembly errors, improve crimp quality, and increase throughput.
ETCO is built for high-volume production and long-term supply reliability. Press-mounted vision systems, in-process inspection, CPK analysis, heat treatment, aqueous cleaning, and controlled-atmosphere ovens are employed as required to meet customer and industry standards.
ETCO maintains ISO and IATF certifications across applicable processes and serves over 1,000 customers worldwide with a reputation for quality, consistency, and on-time delivery.
Custom Production Volumes and Commercial FitCustom stamped products are typically supplied in production volumes with many programs running into the hundreds of thousands or millions annually. Pricing is based on configuration, tooling, material selection, and volume.
ETCO works closely with customers to select the most cost-effective combination of material, plating, tooling strategy, packaging, and automation.
